William R. Henninger

William R. Henninger, 66, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Gatehouse Hospice in Williamsport.  He was born March 1, 1953 in Williamsport, a son of Allen G. and Wilda (Blanchard) Henninger. 

He graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with an Associates Degree in Architecture.  Bill married the former Sherry L. McCracken on August 31, 1971.  Early in life he worked as a manager at Reliable Furniture in Williamsport. More recently, he was a manager for his son’s business JR’s Van Service, Inc. as a subcontractor for FedEx. Bill also owned B & S Specialty Services. Bill enjoyed woodworking, upholstering and furniture restoration.

Besides his wife, Sherry, of more than 48 years, he is survived by two sons, Bob Henninger (Jody) of Jersey Shore and JT Henninger (Lisa) of Hughesville; seven grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Hyde (David) of Jersey Shore; a brother, Allen J. Henninger (Helen) of Dallas, PA; and his sister-in-law Chris McCracken of Jersey Shore.  Bill was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Henninger in 2013 and brother-in-law, Kenneth McCracken in 2018.

Bill’s Life Tribute will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10 am at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, with Pastor Jeffrey Howell officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday January 31, 2020 from 7 pm to 9 pm.
