Todd L Cunningham, 51 of Brooklyn, NY, passed away Thursday, December 28th at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. He was born on March 19th, 1972, in Jersey Shore to Scott and Bonnie Cunningham of Lock Haven.
Todd was passionate about both technology and film. After graduating from Lock Haven High School, he earned a degree in Film Production at Penn State University. He relocated to New York City and established himself as a true “New Yorker,” living in Manhattan and Brooklyn for nearly 30 years. There he pursued a career in software engineering, navigating an evolving landscape of online publishing and streaming media services.
His career encompassed thirteen years at McGraw Hill Education, serving as Assistant Director of Software Engineering and Delivery Director. He then dedicated six years at HBO, playing a pivotal role in the launch of HBO Max streaming services as a Senior Manager in Technical Program Management. His most recent role was with CBS/Paramount Global also as a Technical Program Manager in Video and Media Engineering.
More meaningful than any of his professional achievements was being a father. He cherished the time spent with his son Declan, bonding over movies at the local Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, watching an endless stream of shows, new and old alike, and listening to their favorite bands such as Animal Collective, and of course, The Beach Boys. Todd was also an avid board gamer whose enthusiasm sparked many moments of fun, strategy, and lasting connections among loved ones.
Besides his parents, he leaves behind a loving son Declan Scott at home, brothers Aaron (Channon) of Clark Summit and Derrick (Desirae) of Williamsport, nephew Flynn Ellis of Williamsport, his grandmother Rita Cunningham of Woolrich, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister Jennie Margaret and grandparents Van and Gertrude Rice and Lawrence Cunningham.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a public visitation on Saturday January 20, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, located at 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, PA. The interment will be at Rest Haven next to his little sister. A celebration of life with friends and co-workers will be planned in New York at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Common Cause Education Fund.
