Shelly K. Smith

Shelly K. (Willits) Smith, age 58, of Jersey Shore, PA, passed away on September 26, 2023. She was born on November 24, 1964, in Jersey Shore, PA, to the late Marion (Anderson) Willits and Frank Willits.

Shelly dedicated many years of her life as the Assistant Head Cook at Jersey Shore Elementary School. Her hard work and dedication were greatly appreciated by the students and staff alike. Shelly found joy in her work and took pride in providing nourishing meals for the children.

Outside of her professional life, Shelly had a deep love for her family and friends. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her family and creating beautiful memories together. Shelly also enjoyed vacationing with her family, a tradition that brought them all closer together.

Shelly was a faithful member of Crossroads Church in Jersey Shore. Her faith provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life, and she found comfort in the community of believers.

Shelly is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George V. Smith, Jr., her mother, Marion (Anderson) Willits and her beagle Cooter.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and precious memories for her surviving family and friends to cherish.

She is survived by her children: Heather Cummings (Joel), Brandon English (Hollis), Katelyn Herritt (Matt), Emily Jones, Tyler Smith (Caitlyn), and Skyler Smith. Shelly's grandchildren, Kayli, Cayden, Bentley, Emersyn, Easton, Sienna, Thane, Jacob, and Bridy, held a special place in her heart.

She is also survived by her father, Frank Willits, and her sisters: Candy Thompson, Terri Cummings (Steve), and Kathy Kelz (Jim). Shelly's dear companion, Lily the dog, brought warmth and companionship to her life.

Shelly will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her loving presence and kind-hearted nature will always be remembered.

May she find eternal peace and rest in the loving embrace of her heavenly Father.

A visitation will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Crossroads Church 1454 PA-44, Jersey Shore, PA 17740 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.  The memorial service will begin at 6:00pm with Pastor Jamie Bailey officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Church.
