Sharon Ann Gallagher

Sharon Ann Gallagher, 79, of Avis passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.   She was born in Williamsport, January 28, 1943 a daughter to Robert & Mary (Greensweight) Higgins.  Sharon was a graduate of Montoursville High School. She was a lifetime member of the Avis United Methodist Church.  Sharon took pride in being a homemaker and taking care of her family.  Some of the things she enjoyed most were fishing, she loved all dogs but especially German Sheppard’s, taking rides in the mountains and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sharon’s survivors include; her companion of 12 years Joseph Monsey; three sons, Patrick Gallagher of Linden, Jon Gallagher of Jersey Shore, Jeremy Gallagher of Rauchtown; Stepson: Tom Gallagher of Mill hall; two daughters: Kristi Lentz of Harrisburg and Jennifer Young of Lock Haven; two brothers: Dale Higgins and Ron Higgins; three sisters: Terry Bardo, Kim Hales, Janice Weigel and Mick Shaw; 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 

Including Sharon’s parents she was preceded in death by: a step mother, Bernadine Higgins; a step father, Howard Smith; her son Robert Gallagher; step daughter Cheryl Beck; brother Robert Higgins and sister Marilyn Gardner. 

There will be a Memorial Service held Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, PA 17740. Pastor Duane Bardo will be officiating.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
