Sharon Ann (Laylon) Boatman of Avis passed away October 25, 2023 at the age of 78. She was born on April 28, 1945 in Williamsport. She was predeceased by her husband, William L. Boatman; her parents, Twila and Norman Shearer and her grandson, Jonathan Boatman. She leaves behind four generations of family who will miss her; her three sisters, her sons Steven (Kathleen), Lee (Tammi) and William Jr.; her granddaughters, Courtney, Tiffany (Jesse), Samantha and her great-grandchildren Katie and Shane.
After retiring from Armstrong, Sharon dedicated over 15 years to faithfully volunteering at Susque-view Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was a familiar face for residents while handing out mail, serving ice cream and helping with bingo. In her spare time she could often be found curled up with her cats reading a book, completing a puzzle or working on a crossword. Sharon attended Tiadaghton Valley Grace Brethren Church for decades where she also taught Sunday school.
The family will be having a private service and Sharon will be laid to rest at Twin Hills Memorial Park.
