Sara M. (Lucas) Fidler

LINDEN - Sara M. (Lucas) Fidler, 79, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at her home surround by family.

She married Robert J. “Bob” Fidler, who survives, on April 12, 1958 and they have celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Sara was born on November 12, 1939 in Lock Haven and was the daughter of the late James E. and Dorothy M. (Shaffer) Lucas.  She graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1957.  In addition to her being a dedicated homemaker, she was co-owner, secretary and treasurer for Lucas Trucking for many years.  She enjoyed traveling and vacations, Amish auctions, spending time with her family and loved her cats.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by three sons; Robert K. Fidler (Sandra K.) of Jersey Shore, James E. Fidler (Robin L.) of Linden and Scott L. Fidler (Melissa) of Avis, four daughters; Shelley M. Fidler of Jersey Shore, Kelly M. Boatman (James B.), Jacqueline A. Fidler and Jill I. Fidler (Brenda L.), all of Linden, eight grandchildren; Lucas R. Fidler, Rebecca G. Fidler, Robert S. Fidler, Samantha L. (Fidler) Hines, Danielle M. Fidler, Curtis J. Boatman, Sarah K. (Boatman) Black and Matthew R. Boatman, seven great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; Chavin, Cibony, Cami and Ciah, one brother; James C. Lucas (Carol A.) of Linden, one sister; Carol M. Rainey of Woolrich, special cousin; Anita Hill of Williamsport, long time friend; Joyce Frey of Linden, family friends; Kathy Foust of Hughesville, Deb Merrick of S. Williamsport and Tammy Burkholder of Jersey Shore and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one daughter; Kimberly G. Fidler.

There will be a public viewing 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore and again 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019 with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Ron Savits will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the UPMC Susquehanna Hospice.
