Ruth S. (Steppe) Orgitano

Ruth S. Orgitano, 79, of South Williamsport, formerly of Jersey Shore, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna.  She was born in Oval, January 25, 1942, a daughter of Raymond and Viola (Deitrick) Steppe.

Ruth was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School after attending Catholic School at Immaculate Conception.  During her life she was employed with the Union National and Commonwealth Banks.  She worked at Frito Lay and finally the South Williamsport School district where she was a secretary.  Ruth was married to Frank A. Orgitano, Jr. who passed away in March of 2004.  She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Williamsport. Ruth’s true passion was her family.  She loved holidays, Sunday dinners, and cheering from the stands at the kids sporting events.

Ruth’s survivors include her six children; John D. (Patti) Of Duboistown, Richard A. (Sue), of Elimsport, Ronald E. (Raven) at home, Frank A. III (Sandy) of Trout Run, Karen M. Orgitano, of Milford and Lisa R. Orgitano, of South Williamsport; seven  grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron, Richie, Mat, Anna, Benjamin, and Ruby, along with great grandchildren.  Ruth is also survived by her siblings, David L. Steppe (Debbie), of Linden, Rose Markley (Keith), Patricia DeHaas (Phil) of Newberry and brother-in-law William Orgitano (Sharon) of Jersey Shore.  In addition, there are numerous relatives, friends and loved ones that were dear to her heart.

Private family service for Ruth will be held at 11:30 Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore.  Interment will follow at Jersey Shore Cemetery.  Luncheon will follow from Noon to 4pm at Independent Fire Hall, 130 Pennsylvania Ave, Jersey Shore, for those that would like to come share memories and laughs.  In lieu of flowers, Ruth would want you all to cherish every second with your loved ones.
