Ronald C. Bierly

Ronald C. Bierly, 82, of Waterville passed away early Monday morning at his residence.

He was born in Jersey Shore June 26, 1940 a son of Ardell and Margaret (Marshall) Bierly.  He was a 1958 graduate of Jersey Shore High School.  On April 4, 1959 he married Barbara Ott who survives.  Ron was the owner & proprietor of Bierly’s gas station & fuel oil Company of Jersey Shore. He operated the business from 1978 to 1989.  Following the sale of the business, Ron was always busy helping local contractors, Larry Brooks, John Brownlee and Herb Hughes. 

He was a member of Garman Lutheran Church. He served as Cummings Township Supervisor for 18 years.  He was a life member of Waterville Volunteer Fire Company where he served as President and Assistant Chief. He enjoyed hunting and his “farm” in Watertown, NY.  He was a member of the N.R.A., the 1000 Yard Bench Club, Pine Creek Preservation Association, and the BPOE Lodge 1057 of Jersey Shore.   

Besides his wife, Barbara of 63 years, Ron is survived by his daughter Mary Lynn Sheets (Bob) and a son Craig Bierly (Angela) all of Waterville, Eight Grandchildren, Brandy, Troy, Jessica, Robert, Tyler, Neiko, Hunter and Addie; Eleven Great Grandchildren and siblings Richard Bierly (Donna) of Waterville, Fred Bierly of Jersey Shore and Mary Ann Keeler of Cogan House.

Ron’s Life Tribute Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Garman Lutheran Church 1779 Sulphur Run Road, Jersey Shore, PA 17740 with Pastor Dutch Rinker and Gary Shumway officiating.  A time of fellowship will follow in the church’s social hall.  To leave your fondest memories of Ron or Condolences please visit www.rearickcarpenter.com.
