Robert B. Karstetter, lovingly known as "Boozer," passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born on January 14, 1932, at his family's home in Rauchtown. Robert's passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will forever be cherished.
Throughout his life, Robert dedicated his professional career to Avco, where he served as an Inspector for an impressive 40 years. He retired in 1991, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Robert had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He was skilled in leatherwork, woodwork, and gardening, showcasing his talents and creativity. Robert also enjoyed completing word searches and strumming his guitar, bringing music into his life.
Robert was a faithful member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and A.F.M.A. Additionally, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Leslie Karstetter and Lois (Barner) Karstetter. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley J. (Shaffer), his son Roy Karstetter (Tina), and his daughter Debbie Henger (Eric). Robert's memory will also be carried on by his grandchildren: Jasen Brown (Heather), Amber Karichner (James), Joshua Karstetter, Travis Karstetter (Ashley), Tyler Karstetter, Jordan Saulnier (Blake), Dominic Rundio (Jessica), Garrett Waldman (Autumn) and his 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Karstetter (Marie), sister Nelda Moore (Dave), nieces, and nephew.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, PA 17740 on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. A Funeral Service will then be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 10:00 A.M., officiated by Pastor Tim Longnecker. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest at the Oval Cemetery with full Military Honors.
During this time of mourning, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Robert and the impact he had on our lives. His kind soul and loving nature will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on forever.
