Robert J. ("Bob") Fidler

Robert J. “Bob” Fidler, 80 of Level Corners passed away Wednesday morning, December 18, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born August 31, 1939 in Jersey Shore, a son of Woodrow and Verna Fidler and foster son of Reynold S. and Edith M. Eckel. 

Bob was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and a veteran of the US Marine Corps.  Early in life he worked for Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven.  From 1958 to 2012 he was a truck driver for 54 years with Lucas Trucking Co., Jersey Shore.  He married the former Sara “Sally” (Lucas) Fidler on April 12, 1958; they shared 61 years together until her passing this past September 19th.  Bob enjoyed traveling, casino’s, his pets and livestock, strong coffee, hot peppers and shortbread cookies.  His favorite pastime and passion of his life was spending time with his family.

His survivors include three sons; Robert K (Sandra K.) of Jersey Shore, James E. (Robin L.) of Linden and Scott I (Melissa) of Avis, four daughters; Shelley M Fidler, of Jersey Shore, Kelly M. (James B.) Boatman, Jacqueline A. Fidler and Jill I. Fidler (Brenda L.) all of Linden.  Also surviving are sisters; Ann M. Holmes of York, Betty Lomison, of Jersey Shore, Jacqueline Hostetler of Montana and brothers Richard Fidler of Clearwater, FL and John Fiedler, of Avis, grandchildren; Lucas R. Fidler, Rebecca G. Fidler, Robert S. Fidler, Samantha L. Fidler Hines, Danielle M. Fidler, Curtis J. Boatman, Sarah K. Boatman Black and Matthew R. Boatman, four step grandchildren, Chavin, Ciboney, Cami and Ciah also seven great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, parents, infant daughter, Kimberly, sisters, Jeanne and Barbara and brothers Kenneth and Harry and brother-in-law, Howard Holmes.

Bob’s Tribute of Life Service will be celebrated at 11 am Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore with Pastor Ronald Savits officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.  There will be a public visitation Sunday evening, December 22, 2019 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
