Mary Ann Harris Obituary

Mary Ann Harris, 87, of 62 Pine Creek Avenue, Jersey Shore, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 11, 2022.  She passed away peacefully at Heritage Springs Memory Care, Montoursville.

Born in Jersey Shore, on June 23, 1935, she was the daughter of Lafayette and Ruth Dawson. On April 19, 1955, she married Calvin W. Harris of Jersey Shore and they celebrated 51 years of marriage before his death in August 2006.  She is survived by her two daughters; Vickie E. Angstadt of Jersey Shore and Anne L. Hatalsky of Williamsport.  Also surviving are two grandchildren: Ryan Hamilton of Jersey Shore and Sophie Hatalsky of Lancaster, PA; three great-grandchildren: Madison, Kennedy and Mason Hamilton.  Mary Ann is also survived by brothers Jay M. Dawson and his wife Nancy of Palm Desert, CA and Lafayette “Willie” of Jacksonville, FL and sisters-in-law, Ruth Kamsler of St. Augustine, Fl and M. Louise Harris and Marguerite Hughes of Jersey Shore.  She was predeceased by her brother James and his wife Dorie of TX and her sister-in-law Connie of FL.

Mary Ann graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1953.  She worked at Bell Telephone Co. for years, but being a homemaker brought her much satisfaction and pleasure.

Mary Ann was of the Episcopalian faith, but in her later years attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church and Crossroads Church, both in Jersey Shore.  Mary Ann especially loved visiting with her neighbors, doing hobbies like walking, cooking, sewing and needle crafts.  Arrangements are being handled by Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore and online condolences can be made at www.rearickcarpenter.com

Mary Ann’s interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery alongside her husband.
