Mary E. (Ferguson) Huffman

Mary E. (Ferguson) Huffman, 79, of Pine Creek Township passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Williamsport North Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born August 25, 1942 in Elmira, NY a daughter of George and Mary E. (Nickerson) Ferguson.  She was married July 1, 1962 to William E. “Guff” Huffman who passed December 18, 2020.  Early in life Mary was a waitress at Beeches Restaurant in Jersey Shore, Pa and worked in the meat department at Acme Grocery Store in Williamsport; after her children were born she was then a homemaker. She was a member of the Phelps Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed needlework, traveling, drawing and jigsaw puzzles.  She had a great appreciation for the great outdoors as was evident by her love for camping, hunting, fishing and the fact she was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, The Keystone Elk Alliance and the N.R.A.

Mary is survived by her son David G. Huffman (Barb Fisher) of Jersey Shore; one daughter Debra J. Boone (James) of Williamsport, 4 grandchildren; Jamey Miele, Elizabeth Cribb, L.J. Boone and Monica Boone, along with 2 great grandchildren; Finley and Case. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by 3 sisters; Theresa Keefer, Mildred Hoy, Agnes Neff and her granddaughter Courtney Miele.

Mary’s Life Tribute Service will be Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home 1002 Allegheny Street Jersey Shore, PA 17740 at 6:00 PM with a public visitation from 5:00-6:00 PM.  Interment will be private.  To leave your fondest memories or condolences please visit www.rearickcarpenter.com

There will be a Life Celebration gathering hosted by the family at a later date.
