Margaret Hurlbutt Obituary

Margaret M. Hurlbutt, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on November 30th 2023 with her husband by her side.

Margaret 77 was born on October 13th 1946 in Jersey Shore PA, and it remained her cherished home throughout her life.  She was a compassionate aide while working at Jersey Shore Nursing home and for Blast at McCall Middle School. After retiring Margaret and her husband became” snow birds” enjoying the winters in Zephyrhills FL.  When she was home in the warm months, she was an active helper at her daughter’s daycare where she enjoyed helping with the all children.

In her leisure time, Margaret loved to sew.  She would often be found at flea markets or craft shows with her quilts, bibs, or aprons.  Most weekends were spent camping with her husband, making memories to last a lifetime. Margaret loved her family dearly.  She proudly attended every event she could for her grandchildren.

Margaret was married to her loving husband, James L Hurlbutt, Jr they would have been celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary on December 23rd.  Their marriage was a testament to their enduring bond and shared commitment to one another.

The loss of Margaret will be deeply felt by James and their two daughters, Misty Miller (Harry) and Kimberly Mertes (Frank).  She is also survived by sisters June Roupp and Mary Breon and Brother Richard Zinck

Margarets memory will forever be cherished by her grandchildren:  Lindsay (Joe), Damian (Heather), Adam (Brianna), Joshua, Taylor, Madigan (Jack) and Harrison.  She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Landon, Anderson, David, Everett, Zander, Mykenna, and Benjamin.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Norman & Grace (Koch) Zinck, 3 Brothers; Norman, Charles and James, along with one sister Betty

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the nurses and aides who have helped with her care.
