Linda P. (Parker) Best

Linda Best, 73 of Jersey Shore passed away, Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at UPMC Williamsport. She was born March 28, 1946 in Roanoke Rapids, NC, the daughter of Joseph D. and Ethel (Bradley) Parker.  She was a graduate of Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC, majoring in accounting.  In 1966, Linda married the love of her life, Gary Best, who survives.  Linda came to live in Jersey Shore in June of 1973.

Linda was employed by the Jersey Shore Area School District, where she was a Teacher’s Aide and Reading Instructor for 37 years. She enjoyed her time with her students helping them with art projects and other various enrichment activities along with being very involved in the planning of the annual school festival. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was always willing to volunteer.  Linda was a former member of the Business and Professional Women of PA, she enjoyed crafting, bus trips, lunch with her teacher friends, making homemade gifts for her friends while loving her doggie “Snowball”.  Linda’s first love though was for her husband, son, daughter in law and her grandsons.

Her survivors include her husband, Gary, her son, John and his wife Shere of Jersey Shore and her two grandsons, Brandon and Aaron.

Linda’s Life Tribute Service will be held at Noon on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore with her Pastor Brian Moyer officiating.  Visitation will be at the church, Monday from 11 AM until Noon.  Private interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA  17701 in memory of Linda.
