Kenneth Leitch Obituary


Kenneth L. Leitch, 81, of McElhattan, passed away July 18, 2022 at Susque-View in Lock Haven. He was born on September 7, 1940 in Lock Haven, the son of Alton and Clara Ramsey Leitch.
Ken was a former employee of Don Welch Motor Company, Piper Aircraft and Avis Homes, from where he retired in 2002.
Ken was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He loved hunting, fishing, working on his lawn mowers and tractors.
He was preceded in death by this high school sweetheart and loving wife of 51 years, Emaline R. Bechdel Leitch. They were married in September of 1959. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jamie Harnish Rutt; his companion of 5 years, Ila Welker; his brother, Alton "Bunk" Leitch Jr.; and three sisters, Betty Chubb, Jean Moodler, and Doris Shaw.
He is survived by his five children, Kenneth E. (Nancy) of Avis, Robert A. (Linda) of Dimondale, Mich., Margaret A "Peggy" (Michael) McCarthy of Hamburg, Pa., Mark S. (Kelly) of Jersey Shore, and Steven W. (Lori) of McElhattan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gary and William; and one sister Patricia Miller.
Services for Ken will be held at 7 p.m, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Alleghany Street, Jersey Shore with Pastor Jeff Pennycoff officiating. Friends and Relatives may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. In keeping with Ken’s wishes his service will be family oriented and casual.
