Joyce L. Willits

Joyce L. Willits, 81, of Avis passed away Saturday afternoon February 18, 2023 at the Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital.  She was born December 11, 1941 in Jersey Shore a daughter of Ivan and Helen Hipple Weigle.  She and her husband George D. Willits were married April 27, 1991. 

Joyce was employed with several companies over the years including Sylvania, C.A. Reed, and retired from Widman’s Warehouse in 1997.  She was a member of the Cornerstone Faith Fellowship Church of Antes Fort.  She was also a member of the George Pepperman American Legion Post #36, the Billy O. Brandt V.F.W. Post # 201 of Jersey Shore, the Sons of Italy, Lock Haven, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge of Lock Haven and Castanea Fire Hall.   Joyce was an accomplished cook and baker and was known for her enjoyment as a Karaoke singer.

Besides her husband George she is survived by her children – Tammy Parent of Jersey Shore, Phil Myers of Linden, Doug Myers of Snow Flake Ariz, Michael Myers of St. Mary’s and Clair Myers of Antes Fort.  Two step sons Tim Willits of Williamsport and Todd Willits of Avis along with 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and two sisters – Iva Berger and Naomi Wingrove both of Williamsport.  Joyce was preceded in death by a step son Tracey Willits.

Joyce’s Life Tribute Memorial Service will be held from the Cornerstone Faith Fellowship Church in Antes Fort on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 4PM with her Pastor Jeff Pennycoff officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the Church from 3 – 4PM prior to the service.  Interment will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Her family suggests contributions be made to the Cornerstone Faith Fellowship Church 525 River Mill Rd., Jersey Shore, PA 17740
