Janice L. (Francis) Laubscher

JERSEY SHORE - Janice L. (Francis) Laubscher, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior this day, Monday, December 27, 2021 at her residence.

She was married to Roger A. Laubscher, who survives on August 21, 1965 at the Hyner Methodist Church.  He was the love of her life.  They were married for 56 years. 

Janice was born on June 26, 1946 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Warren and Dorothy (Cower) Francis of Hyner.  She had graduated from Bucktail High School in 1965.  Her faith was United Methodist and she had attended several churches over the years.

She worked with the youth program for many years and she was a past Sunday School Teacher.  She donated some of her time to the Red Bird Mission Project.  She studied the bible by attending several bible studies and served on church council and various synod committees.  Janice enjoyed doing lay mission work and believed in angels and had a collection to remind everyone that angels really do exist.

Janice liked to read and walk with her friends.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Robert Jr. and Jessica Sanso of Jersey Shore and Parker and Preston Laubscher of Virginia.  She enjoyed going to watch Robert Jr. and Jessica Sanso race their race cars.  She loved to travel with her family and friends.  Janice loved to ride motorcycle with her husband’s and her friends.  She also loved camping, water aerobics, playing cards with her friends and spent a lot of time caring for her dog Raci.

In addition to her husband Roger, she is survived by two children; Tammy L. Sanso (Bob) of Jersey Shore and Brian L. Laubscher (Mindy) of Virginia, four grandchildren; Robert Jr. and Jessica Sanso and Parker and Preston Laubscher, one sister; Judith Butler, three brothers; Jesse, Jeffrey and Jerry Francis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother; John and nieces; Jennifer and Elizabeth.

In keeping with Janice’s wishes, there will be no services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Danville.

Arrangements are being handled by Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
