Irene F. (Smith) Young

Irene F. Smith Young, 76, of Linden passed away Monday July 12, 2021 in the Jersey Shore Hospital. She was born in Jersey Shore September 6, 1944. She was the daughter of Allen and Catherine (Cohick) Smith.  Irene was married January 28. 1966, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, to Jack E. Young, who passed away July 1, 2017. Early in her life she worked for Woolrich Woolen Mills and on the side did cleaning. She also worked for Alta Products in Williamsport. She enjoyed canning, gardening, sewing cooking, country music, and loved spending time with her family.

Her survivors include her children: Debra A. Howard (Donald) of Hensley, ARK; Duane A. Young (Margaret) of Salladasburg; Keith A Young (Kelly) of Lock Haven; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren along with two brothers Denny Smith of Linden and Barry Smith of Williamsport. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and two sons Kevin in 1994 and Rick Young (Nadine) in 2020.

Irene’s Life Tribute Service will be held in Friday July 16, 2021 at 10AM at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore with Pastor Michael J. Dawes officiating. Burial will be in Woodward Township Cemetery Linden.
