JERSEY SHORE - Harry R. “Skip” Miller, Sr., 70, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at UPMC Williamsport.
On October 11, 1975, he married the former Irene V. (Phillips) who survives. They have celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Harry was born on October 5, 1949 in Williamsport and was the son of the late John R. and Pauline E. (Dagits) Miller. He graduated from Jersey Shore High School, class of 1969. He worked as a boiler maker for Burnham in Lancaster for 40 years and then retired. Harry was Lutheran by faith and was a member of the VFW in Millersville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
In addition to his wife Irene, he is survived by one son; Harry R. Miller, Jr. of Lancaster, one daughter; Virginia E. Backenstoss (Michael) of Ephrata and two grandchildren; Christopher Siegrist and Ivy Rose Siegrist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; John R. Jr., David A. and Kenneth Miller and one sister; Betty Jane Ardabell.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
