Gene Lehman Obituary

OVAL - Gene S. Lehman, 81, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was married on April 28, 1962 to the late Charlotte J. “Jeanie” (Eck) who had passed away June 16, 1988.

Gene was born on July 19, 1939 in Jersey Shore and was the son of the late Samuel S. and Mae L. (Wagner) Lehman.  He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1957 and served with the US Navy from 1957 – 1960 as a machinist mate aboard the USS Yorktown.  He drove truck for Frito Lay and retired in 2003.  He was a member of the Rauchtown Nippenose Valley Lions Club and enjoyed farming and hunting.

Gene is survived by four daughters; Cynthia Lehman (Tom) of Virginia/Pennsylvania, Gina Lehman (Billy) of Derwood, MD, Stephanie Lepley of Camp Hill and Sonya Kellogg (Kevin) of Avis, ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four brothers; Dean Lehman (Virginia), Wilbert Lehman, Robert Lehman (Ruth) and Michael Lehman (Dorthea), all of Jersey Shore, two sisters; Margaret Gibbs of Arnold, Missouri and Patricia Demko (Nick) of Jersey Shore.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his beloved companion; Miko.

There will be a public viewing 1 – 3 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.  A Life Celebration service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Nippenose Bible Fellowship, 92 Schoolhouse Rd., Jersey Shore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA or the Rauchtown Nippenose Valley Lions Club.
