Francis L. Clausen, 76, of Williamsport passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport. She was born November 10, 1944 in Jersey Shore, the daughter of Earl Carl and Naomi May (Grugan) Peterson.
Francis was married to Melvin Clausen in 1965 and he survives; she graduated from Blossburg-North Penn High School in 1962 and from the Williamsport School of Nursing in 1965. Francis was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years; retiring in 2006 from the Geriatrics Department of The Williamsport Home. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior in 1967 and was a member of Fairlawn Community Church in Williamsport, where she was Treasurer of the Christian Women of Prayer Fellowship. She was also a youth leader and Sunday school teacher. Francis volunteered for both The American Heart Association and The American Cancer Society.
Francis’ survivors besides her husband, Melvin, of 56 years, include one daughter, Sherry Clausen, of Akron, OH and three brothers, David J. Peterson (Helen) of Newberry, Glen R. Peterson ( Diane) of Chester, VA and Donald R. Peterson (Joy) of Orange City, FL.
In keeping with Francis’ wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Her burial will take place privately in Highland Cemetery in Lock Haven.
