Ethel Aunkst Obituary

Ethel L. Aunkst, 76, of Jersey Shore went to be with her Lord Thursday, November 11, 2021 after a stay of nearly fifteen months at Manor Care in Jersey Shore, where she was once employed as a CNA and Activities Manager.

She was the daughter of the late Lawrence G. Cruse and Erma (Parker) Cruse.  She married her life partner, the late Carl E. Aunkst, Sr. on June 27, 1964.  They celebrated over 39 years of marriage together, before Carl departed for Heaven in 2003.  She was also predeceased by her sister Judith Cole of Wiscoy, NY.

Ethel was a member of the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church for many years where she was a Deacon and a Nursery attendant.  She loved reading, cooking, baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She adored her many animals, especially Valentino her black pug, who was probably anxiously awaiting her arrival at Rainbow Bridge.

Ethel’s Survivors include her children, Carl E. Aunkst, Jr. (Lynette) and her daughter Crystal Hauserman (Joseph) all of Jersey Shore and her son Christopher Aunkst (Michele) of Cammal; one brother Frank Ackerman of Wiscoy, NY. Along with nine grandchildren: Bradley W. Rank (Lorin Starr), Katelyn Rank (John Paul), Chiara Hauserman, Joscelyn Gerlach (Steve), Jessica Steinbacher (Zachary), Jordan Aunkst, Hope Pennycoff (Duke), Nichole Veatch (Samuel), and Jessica Lagey (Lawrence), 13 great grandchildren, three Nephews and a Niece all of NY.

Ethel’s Life Tribute Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1 pm at the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church 235 S. Main St. Jersey Shore with Pastor Danesta Whaley and Pastor Charlie Winkleman officiating.  Her family suggests that contributions be made to either to the Lycoming County SPCA 2805 Reach Road Williamsport, PA 17701 or the Alzheimer Association at www.alz.org
