Duane L. Fargus, 84, of Avis, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday November 9, 2021 at the Gatehouse Hospice in Williamsport, PA. He was born May 12, 1937 in Lock Haven the son of Charles and Kathryn (Funk) Fargus. He was married in 1957 in Centre Hall, Pa to Carol Walters who survives. Duane was employed early in life by Woolrich Woolen Mills, and Capital Homes in Avis, and later Avis Homes. He retired from Clinton County Penn Dot as an Equipment Manager. He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jersey Shore where he served as a deacon for many years. He was often found having breakfast with friends at the Crest Diner and Fin Fur and Feather. His past times included hunting and fishing and spending time at his cabin in Haneyville with family and his dear friend, Calvin Beaver. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his beloved wife Carol of 64 years, he is survived by his daughter Jolie Heaton (Jim) and his son Duane Fargus (Anita) all of Avis. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Matthew (Chrissy) Heaton, Rachael (Jerry) Clark all of Jersey Shore, Keri Fargus of New Smyrna Beach, Fl., and Natalia (Matthew) Jones of Exton, Pa. There are six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Taylor, Aiden, Morgan, Olivia and Lincoln.
Duane’s Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Calvary Baptist Church 315 Thompson St. Jersey Shore, Pa 17740 with Pastor Jeffery Howell officiating. Friends and family may call at the church on Sunday from 2-4pm. Interment will be private. His family suggests that contributions be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
