Carol M. Hackenberg, 78, of Milton, passed away, Sunday, Feb, 7, 2021 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Aug. 20, 1942 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of the late Oswald and Helen Mae (Hopper) Prince.
Carol married Glenn E. Hackenberg, May 28, 1961, sharing almost 60 years together. She was employed at one time by Rizzo’s and also babysat children for many years. Carol was a dedicated housewife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and board games. She also liked to ride bike and play a fun game of kickball with her family.
In addition to her husband Glenn, she is survived by two sons, Barry Hackenberg (Tanya) of Avis, Terry Hackenberg (Jenny) of Charlton, a daughter, Janet Simon (Mark Alston) of Milton; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a brother Jack E. Prince, of Scranton.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Prince.
A visitation will be Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, 6 PM-8 PM at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore. Carol’s Life Tribute Service will be at the funeral home Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at 10 AM followed by an internment service at the Jersey Shore Cemetery Chapel, Locust Street, Jersey Shore. Pastor Larry Siikanen will officiate.
