Carl Winter Obituary

Carl A. Winter, 79, of Williamsport and formerly of Oval/Collomsville, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 9, 2020 at the Williamsport Home of complications induced by the Covid 19 virus.

He was born in Collomsville, Dec. 14, 1940, one of 13 children of the late Fred and Margaret (Ulsamer) Winter.  Carl was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and married the former Judith K. (Deitrick) on October 5, 1968.  They recently observed their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Carl was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bastress.  He retired from ABB Corp., formerly Bailey Controls, where he worked in the maintenance department.  Carl was always proud of the fact that he was the first employee hired when Bailey Controls opened.  He enjoyed his cabin, hunting and restoring old Massy-Ferguson tractors.  Carl was well known as an all around “Mr. Fix-It”

Besides his wife Judy, he is survived by two daughters, Glenda McDonald (Tom), of Montoursville and Michele Travis (Brad), of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Madelyn, Jacob, Alivia McDonald Carly and Brady Travis; four brothers, Joseph and Phillip of Collomsville and David and Robert of Oval; four sisters, Betty Lupole, of Jersey Shore, Rose Palmatier of Bastress, Barbara Rider of Montoursville and Esther Morris of Williamsport.

He was preceded in death by siblings, John, Frank, Mary and Ann Louise Winter.

In keeping with Carl’s wishes, his services will be held privately at a later date at his family’s convenience.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr Ciccarelli and the staff of the 100 hall for the kind, compassionate care shown to Carl which made him feel like a King!  You are all truly appreciated!
