Betty L. Bowmaster, a beloved resident of McElhatten, was born on May 18, 1941, and peacefully passed away on March 7, 2024, at Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was surrounded by her loving family. Betty lived a fulfilling life spanning 82 years.
In her early years, Betty worked as a talented seamstress for Woolrich before retiring from McDonald's in McElhatten. She had a keen interest in Soap Operas, news, golf, cats, animals, crossword puzzles, and word search puzzles. Betty cherished spending time engaging in conversations and visiting with families. She was a dedicated member of McElhatten United Methodist Church.
Betty is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Fredrick D. and Ida Belle (Holmes) Weigel, her beloved husband Wayne R. Bowmaster Sr., daughter Kathy M. Guthrie, and her three brothers, Fred, Dick, and Russell. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her surviving family and friends, including her daughter Angela Mincer, sons James Guthrie (Melissa) and Wayne Bowmaster, Jr., six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A viewing and service to honor Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home 1002 Allegheny Street Jersey Shore, PA; with the viewing from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am. The burial will take place at Linnwood Cemetery in McElhatten, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lock Haven SPCA at 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745, a cause dear to Betty's heart.
Betty's warm presence, kind spirit, and love for her family will forever be cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
