William R. McAlister Sr., 81 of Jersey Shore, went to be with the lord on February 7, 2024. Born April 1, 1942 in Jersey Shore, PA, he was a son to the late Robert B. & Helen (Ergott) McAlister.

Bill was employed by Thompsons and worked for Piatt Township. He was an avid outdoors man & really enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Bill liked to watch wrestling in his down time and he loved to be with his dog.  He was very proud of his home and it gave him great pleasure to take care of it.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, the former Joan E. Fillman and Son William Jr. (Deborah) McAlister. One Brother Robert McAlister (Sandy), of Jersey Shore, six sisters; Kathryn Johnson of Akron, PA, Sharon (Chuck) Krontz of Pekin, Ill., Marlene Wright of Hughesville, Carol McNaulty, Norma Snyder (Chuck) and Donna Royston all of Michigan; along with several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald B. & Thomas McAlister.

A visitation will be held at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home in Jersey Shore on Monday, February 12 from 11am – 12pm. A memorial service will begin at 12pm.
