LOCK HAVEN - Wanda K. (Pearsall) Hughes, 94, went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Jersey Shore Hospital.

She was married to the late Russell A. Hughes on March 9, 1946 and they celebrated 64 years as husband and wife until his death in 2010.

Wanda was born on June 16, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Otto B. and Myrtle D. (Smith) Pearsall.  She graduated from Ralston High School.  She was a dedicated homemaker who in her early years had worked as a telephone operator and at various sewing factories.  Wanda was Protestant by faith and had enjoyed sewing, crafts, crocheting and was an avid book reader and collector.

Wanda is survived by one son; Otto R. Hughes (Georgia) of Lock Haven, four grandchildren; Aaron R. Hughes (Kathy), Ethan R. Hughes (Eileen), Autumn R. Price (Brandon) and Daisy M. Downey (Cameron), three step grandchildren; Pennie Bodley, Martha Dingman and Nathan Dingman, nine great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson; Andrew R. Hughes, one brother; Carleton Pearsall and one sister; Freda Crist.

There will be a public viewing 12 – 1 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore where the funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m.  The Reverend George C. Grossman will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
