JERSEY SHORE - Shirley Mae (Thomas) Greene, 82, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Valley View Skilled Nursing Center, Montoursville.

She was married in 1953 to the late Russell G. Greene, who passed away March 2, 1994, and they celebrated 41 years of marriage.

Shirley was born on September 29, 1935 in Clearfield and was the daughter of the late James and Rachel (Eck) Thomas.  She graduated from Jersey Shore High School, 1953.  She had worked for the Jersey Shore School District as a Teacher's Aide, retiring in 2006.  Shirley was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, BPW and Iota Iota Sorority.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and going to the theater.

Shirley is survived by two sons; Russell Thomas Greene (Nancy) of Jersey Shore and Timothy J. Greene of Jersey Shore and one brother; Russell "Rusty" Thomas (Connie) of Lititz.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; Robert Thomas and two sisters; Betty Eddy and Anna Lowell.

Burial will be private in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

There will be a gathering of family and friends 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore where the memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Joshua Beben will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
