LOCK HAVEN - Shirley J. (Scarsdale) Ergott, 77, died on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Lock Haven Hospital.

She was married to the late Ronald L. Ergott for 39 years before his death on April 28, 1998.

Shirley was born on September 15, 1938 in Anna, IL and was the daughter of the late Oliver and Eva (Sandlin) Scarsdale.  She had graduated from Granite City High School, Class of 1956.  She had worked at GTE Sylvania for 13 years, was a part-time postal clerk and rural carrier and had also worked at West Pharmaceutical and Autoline.  Shirley enjoyed auto racing, fishing, baking and making fudge and crocheting.  She loved all sports and enjoyed attending and watching them.

Shirley is survived by one son; Ronald L. "Ron" Ergott, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Jersey Shore, one daughter; Kathy J. Taylor and her husband Michael of Lock Haven, one honorary son; Robert W. Bowmaster and his wife Sharon and five children of Lock Haven, four grandchildren; Ronald L. Ergott, III, Brian M. Taylor, Kaitlyn M. Taylor and Amanda R. Ergott, one brother; Harvey F. "Frank" Scarsdale and his wife Mary of Granite City, IL and one sister; Jeannie R. Robinson and her companion Les Hurston of St. Peters, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Oliver, Donald, John T. and Billy Scarsdale and three sisters; Mary Smith, Nancy Colby and Janet Scarsdale.

There will be a gathering of family and friends 12 – 1 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore with the memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Roger Yoder will officiate the service.  Burial will private at the convenience of the family.
