LOCK HAVEN - Seth Bierly, 84, of Lock Haven formerly of Jersey Shore passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 20, 1931 in Jersey Shore a son of Claude and Blanche (Gaylord) Bierly.
In June of 1955 Seth married Margaret Peggy Lake. Seth was a High School graduate and also a graduate of Penn College.
After college, he joined the US Army and served as a Combat Engineer during the Korean Conflict in the Anti Aircraft Auxiliary Division.
Seth retired from Avco, now known as Textron, after 20 years of employment at which time he was an A-1 Precision Machinist. After his retirement, he was hired by Penn State College of Technology as a professor and taught precision machinery and blue print reading. He worked there for 20 years before he retired from teaching. He also worked part-time at Norcen Industries as a machinist and consultant during his retirement years.
Seth was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going hunting out West.
Besides Peggy, he is survived by a daughter, Glenda McGill of Jersey Shore and a son Eric Seth Bierly (Stephanie) of Jersey Shore, 2 grandsons, Brodrick of Hawaii and Seth of California
He was predeceased by three brothers, Ardell , Enfield and Vincent and a sister, Neva Eck.
In keeping with Seth's wishes his services will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home"1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
