Ruthann (Robison) Bower passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born on November 29, 1953 to the late Arthur Robison and Marylin Smith in Jersey Shore, PA. Ruth dedicated her life to serving and advocating for the deaf community, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.

Ruthann was a passionate advocate for those in the deaf community, tirelessly working to improve their quality of life and accessibility. Her commitment to this cause was evident through her roles as Past President of the Lycoming Valley Association of the Deaf, Life Member of the PA Society for the Advancement of the Deaf, and Past Secretary of the York Association of the Deaf.

Ruthann was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her ex-husband Thomas Bower, and her granddaughter, Michaela Bower. She is survived by her sons, Samuel (LaTonya) Bower of Nanticoke, PA, and James Bower of Glen Lyon, PA. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Darren (Andrea) Sunderland of Pooler, GA, Elizabeth (Seth Leeper) Bower of Lansford, PA, and Michaela Gaines of Shickshinny, PA.

Ruthann's memory will also be carried on by her brothers, Paul (Georgia) Robison of Phoenix, AZ, John (Elizabeth) Robison of Fredericksburg, VA, James Robison of Mechanicsville, VA, and Tim (Mary) Smith of Muncy, PA, as well as Dewey (Lori) Smith and Kevin Smith. Her sister, Laurieanne (Donn) Hynes of Carolina Shores, NC, also survives her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ruthann's life at a memorial service to be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, PA. Visitation will be from 1PM - 3PM, with the memorial service beginning at 3PM.
