AVIS - Robert B. Stroup, 79, passed away, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, in Danville.

He was born in Pottersdale, PA, February 15, 1938, the only child of the late Hillary and Clara (Haight) Stroup.  His wife, Judy (Slaugenwhite), passed away February 8, 2016; they were married on September 14, 1962 and had shared 54 years of marriage.

Robert was a high school graduate and had been employed by Piper Aircraft as an electrician.  Robert was a very loving husband and father and was well liked by everyone that knew him.  Robert was hardly ever seen out and about without his favorite golf hat on.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and his cat/companion "Stubby".

Surviving Robert are his three children, a son, Bryan Stroup; two daughters, Milinda Stroup and Terry (Lester) Tibbens all of Jersey Shore, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren

There will be no funeral services; there will be a visitation for friends and family Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 11 am – 12 noon at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore.  Burial will immediately follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
