Robert W. Fortman, known by many as Hawk, 60, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Lock Haven. Born on November 19, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri, Hawk lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and passions.
Hawk was a devoted warehouse worker for S.A. Piper Logistics, where he demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment throughout his career. He also dedicated 14 years to Big Mountain Disposal, where he was dedicated and brought cheer to everyone in the company. Outside of his professional life, Hawk had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and kayaking, often finding solace and joy in nature's embrace. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, he was an avid guitar player and found pleasure in video games, sharing these hobbies with friends and family.
His caring nature and love for everyone around him were evident in the relationships he built and cherished throughout his life. Hawk’s family was central to his existence, and he leaves behind a legacy filled with fond memories and cherished moments.
He is survived by his sons: Robert W. Fortman, II (Stephanie Shor), Matthew Fortman, and Gary Fortman; his stepson, Robert Kincade; his adopted son, Thomas Gibson; and his daughters, Starla Feagins and Samantha Fortman. His memory will also be carried on by his grandchildren: Sabrina Boyette, Pamela Boyette, Faith Boyette, and Keri Kincade-Boyette; and his great-granddaughter, Tina Boyette.
Hawk was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Marian Fortman, whose memory he held dear.
A Gathering of Family and Friends to honor and celebrate Hawk’s life will take place from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, located at 1002 Allegheny St, Jersey Shore.
