Richard H. “Dick” Barto, 85, of Jersey Shore, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport. He was born in Antes Fort on June 25, 1940, a son of the late Harris and Mildred (Conner) Barto.

After graduating high school, Dick served his country in the United States Air Force. He married the love of his life, the former Lucy Caprio, who survives, on April 24, 1965. Together, they had a booth at the Lewisburg Flea Market for many years. Dick worked as a truck driver for various employers in the area and retired from Estes. He also ran Barto’s Small Engine Repair out of his home.

In addition to his wife Lucy of over 60 years, Dick is survived by a son, Craig Barto (Wendy) of Jersey Shore; a daughter, LeRae Davis (Jim) of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren, Jacob Barto, Laura Rupert, Sara Walker, Rachel Davis, and Joshua Davis; two great grandchildren, Brooke and Hank Rupert; and a brother, Robert Barto (Deanna) of Gainesville, Florida.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Saint Luke Parish, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, with Father Michael S. McCormick officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing on Friday from 9:00am to 10:00am at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Burial will follow Mass in the Jersey Shore Cemetery Chapel with full Military Honors.
