JERSEY SHORE - Raymond R. Delaney, 68, of Jersey Shore, passed away, Saturday, March 26, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lock Haven, Oct. 19, 1947, a son of Bernard C. and Vona M. Furl Delaney. Ray was a U.S. Air Force Veteran stationed in the Philippines where he met the love of his life, Angelina Paciente, they married Jan. 19, 1971.
Ray was employed at Jersey Shore Steel Company as the Weighmaster, retiring after 43 years at the mill. He was a member of the Jersey Shore Elks Lodge No. 1057, The Jersey Shore American Legion and the Steelworkers Local 5603. He was the former President of the Jersey Shore Wrestling Boosters and a former Little League Coach and a member of the Asian Club of Williamsport. Ray was an avid New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Besides his wife, Lina, Ray is survived by two daughters, Nina P. Urbina (Ricardo), of Williamsport and Melissa R. Jones (W. A.), of Avis; one son, Eric O. Delaney (Samantha), of Jersey Shore; one sister, Sandra Reading (Orie), of Rauchtown; and two brothers, Jack Delaney (Connie), of Avis and David Delaney, of McElhattan; also 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Ray's visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, and his Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at St Luke's Catholic Church, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Bert Kozen officiating.
Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
The family is asking for family and friends who plan to attend the viewing Friday be sure to wear your Pittsburgh Steelers Black and Gold to honor Ray's memory!
