Mary E. "Betty" (Everly) Brooks, 92, formerly of Alvira Road, Elimsport, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at Leighton Place, Williamsport.

She was married to the late Reverend Charles L. "Charlie" Brooks on July 1, 1951, and had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before his death on September 2, 2016.

Betty was born on August 18, 1932 in Lewistown and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Madeline S. (Wampler) Everly.  She graduated from the former Derry Township High School, Yeagertown, Mifflin County.  She attended the former Practical Bible Training School, Johnson City, NY.

Betty was a dedicated pastor's wife and homemaker.  Betty served alongside her husband at the First Baptist Church of Bentley Creek, the former Lambs Creek Bible Church, Mansfield, and Anthony Baptist Church, Jersey Shore.  She especially enjoyed singing in the trio, "The Three Grandmothers," with two of her closest friends, Shirley Ulmer and Carol Brooks.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jersey Shore and enjoyed reading, music and teaching children.

Betty is survived by two sons; David L. (Jennifer) of Rockwall, TX and Daniel "Dan" (Susan) of Lock Haven, one daughter; Merilee B. Mitchley (Gary) of Muncy, ten grandchildren; Cyndi, Janelle, Natalie, Nevin, Bryan, Evan, Abagail, Kelsi, Micah and Trevor, six great-grandchildren; Sareah, Lily, Keyfer, Clayton, Ellis and Maisey and one brother; Robert Everly of York.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son; Steven, one granddaughter; Karen, one brother; David Everly and one sister; Judy Everly  Phillips.

There will be a public viewing 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 315 Thompson St., Jersey Shore where the funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Jeff Howell will officiate the service.  Burial will be held privately in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
