LINDEN - Martha A. Greenaway, 96, formerly of Linden, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Williamsport Home.  She was born, May 29, 1919 in Linden, the daughter of the late Yost M. and Ethel (Brooks) Smith.

Martha was a homemaker and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore.  She employed by Weldons Manufacturing Glamorise.  She was also the Tax Assessor of Mifflin Township for a number of years. Martha retired from the Jersey Shore Area School District after 24 years of service as a Library Aide.

Martha is survived by one niece, Michelle Shiflett (Mark) Baughman, of Florida, and five great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Greenaway, he died August 7, 1987, two daughters, Constance Mae Greenaway, April 24, 1955 and Anneda F. Greenaway, January 30, 1981, both girls passed away at home. She was also predeceased by a sister, Ruby A. Shiflett of Linden.

Memorial Donations in Martha's name may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1409 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore or to a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore.  A public viewing will be from 10-11 before the service at the funeral home with Reverend Ed Prowant Officiating.  Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore.
