JERSEY SHORE - Linda A. Barclay, 72, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, formerly of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
Linda was born in Sewickley, on Sept. 3, 1943, a daughter of the late Elmer Charles and Florence G. (Procopio) Arnoldin.
On Aug. 29, 1963 Linda married Ted Barclay; they were married for 50 years.
She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
In 2002, Linda retired from Christ the King Manor, Dubois, as Director of Nursing. Following her retirement, she relocated to Jersey Shore and had just recently moved to Meadville. A 1961 graduate
of Catholic High School, Mt Carmel, Linda furthered her education by attending Geisinger School of Nursing, Danville and in 1995 earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Lock Haven University.
An avid Bridge player, she was a member of Williamsport Bridge Club. She was also an avid gardener, loved poetry, enjoyed flower arranging and was a wonderful cook.
Linda is survived by three children, Keith Barclay and his wife Denita of Saegertown, Kimberly A. Scott and her husband, Ron of Jersey Shore, Douglas David Barclay and partner, Sean McElhenny of Manchester, Conn.; six grandchildren, Jacob, Katherine, Camden, Michael, Alexander, Brendon; one great-grandson, Lucas; and sisters, Tina Kielceski and her husband, Joe, of Montrose, and Stephanie Arnoldin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, of 50 years and her nephew Paul.
Family and Friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 and from 9-10 a.m. , Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street., Jersey Shore. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday March 15, 2016, at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 118 Kendall Avenue, Jersey Shore.
Interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA, where Linda will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Ted.
