Johnathan E. Dunkle, 26, passed away unexpectedly at his parents’ home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Johnathan was born on September 4th, 1999, in Lock Haven, the son of Neil F. Dunkle, III and Laurie A. Dunkle. He was a graduate of Central Mountain High School and spent most of his adult life working various jobs in the local area, he truly was a "Jack of all trades" and was talented at many things.
Johnathan loved fishing, music and the outdoors, he was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand and music in his ears. He struggled with many demons over the years, but he always remained tender hearted and willing to help anyone who asked.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers Tyler Dunkle and Keith Rachau (Chelsea). Grandmothers Gloria Basinger and Linda Dunkle. Two special Aunts, Dianna Davis and Kristen Calhoun. Johnathan is survived by many other friends and relatives who will miss him.
Waiting for him in Heaven are his grandfathers, Neil F. Dunkle, Jr., and William Francis Gunsallus, and his Uncle Richard Davis. Also, his grandmother Judith Dunkle and his birth mother Muriel Dunkle.
Johnathan will be laid to rest next to his grandfather at Dunkled Acres in the family cemetery. There will be a celebration of his life on September 12th in the barn at Dunkled Acres, 1009 First Fork Rd., Jersey Shore, from 2pm until 6pm. There will be a time of sharing memories and food to honor his life.
