Obituary

JERSEY SHORE - John I. Lupold, 71, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at his home.

He was married on July 10, 1971 to the former Dotty J. (Young) who survives.   They celebrated 46 years of marriage.

John was born on July 30, 1946 in Clearfield.   He was the son of the late Grant Irvin and Dorothy M. (Duck) Lupold.  He graduated from Jersey Shore High School then WAC with an Associate's Degree in Heavy Equipment Construction.  He joined the US Army and served as Sgt. during the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Sharpshooter (riffle) and Combat Infantryman Badge.  He had worked at RW Stabley & Son then Haven Homes in Beech Creek where he retired with over 30 years' service.  He was a member of Phelps Chapel and enjoyed hunting, camping, dirt track car races, playing cards, spending time with family and attending sporting events with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Dotty, he is survived by two sons; John I. Lupold, Jr. (Wendy) of Avis and Travis J. Lupold of Lock Haven, one daughter; Heather R. Carlin (Dwayne) of Jersey Shore, two grandchildren; Madison R. and Ian C. Carlin, two brothers; Howard P. Lupold (Sharon) of Cogan Station and Grant L. Lupold (Connie) of Jersey Shore and two sisters; Zora L. Carson (Jim) of North Carolina and Ruth A. Lupold of Jersey Shore.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Robert G. Lupold.

There will be a graveside service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Jersey Shore Cemetery with Pastor Cody Phillips officiating.  Military honors will follow by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County Veterans Affairs, 230 E. Water St., # 1, Lock Haven, PA 17745.

Arrangements are being handled by Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, PA.
