Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Burkhart Jr, who departed this life on December 8th, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on December 1, 1960, in Williamsport Pennsylvania. John was a devoted son, cherished father, beloved brother, and proud grandfather. His life, which spanned six decades, was marked by love, kindness, and deep commitment to his family.

John was the son of John Burkhart Sr and Margaret (Riggle) Burkhart and he grew up surrounded by the beauty of Jersey Shore where he developed a profound appreciation for nature. He was a hard-working individual known for his caring demeanor and great sense of humor. As a man of many talents, he was always willing to lend a hand.

He is preceded in death by his parents John Burkhart Sr and Margaret (Riggle) Burkhart and his beloved brothers Carl "Butch" Burkhart and Joseph Sylvanio. Johns heart especially ached for the loss of his granddaughter Dakota Hope who left this earth too soon.

John leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. John Burkhart III (Abryonah Yearick), Tiffani Hope (Adam Hope), and Jessica Burkhart (Jeremy Wagner). He was a proud brother to Robert "Bob" Burkhart and a special bond with his niece Sarah Wagner (Cory Wagner). John was also a devoted grandfather to five grandsons, Benjamin, Jace, Landon, Brantley and Maverick, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Throughout his life, John found solace and happiness in various hobbies that included gardening, fishing, and taking long walks. These simple pleasures were not just a past time; they were moments where he connected with nature and often shared laughter and stories with loved ones.

Johns' legacy is one of unwavering strength, support, laughter and love. He had a unique ability to make those around him feel special and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we are reminded of the many ways he enriched our lives. John Burkhart will be dearly missed but not forgotten.

A celebration of Johns life will be held at a later date, where friends and family can gather to share stories and honor the man who meant so much to so many.
