Jean "Pat" Donovan, of Jersey Shore died at Jersey Shore Manor Care, Tuesday, August 2, 2106.  She was the daughter of Harry and Clara (Moyle) Patterson.  Jean was born on October 7, 1923 in McCartney, Clearfield County.

Jean graduated in 1941 from the Jersey Shore High School.  On January 17, 1943, she married Richard "Dick" Donovan.  They celebrated 70 years of marriage until his passing on March 4, 2013.

Throughout her life, Jean worked as a secretary in various positions before her retirement in 1985.  Always active, she was a seamstress, making her children's clothes.  Her love of sewing continued as she made her dresses and Dick's shirts for them to wear to go square dancing.  She enjoyed her flower gardens and feeding the birds.  Several of her recipes have been passed down for many generations to enjoy.  After retiring, she and Dick spent many winters in Florida and enjoyed traveling.

Jean is survived by her son, Larry (Jan) Donovan, Stephens City, VA and daughter, Pat (Hayes) Lose, Collomsville; grandchildren, Kelly (Henry) Cummings, Mike Lose and Keith (Kim) Lose, Eric Donovan and Erin (Dawn) Donovan; great grandchildren, Andrew, Katelyn, Ben, Austin, Logan, Sabria and Cassie.  Jean is also survived by great great grandchildren, Rylee, Payton, Sierra, Darwin and Allistair.

In addition to her husband, Jean was predeased by her brothers, Lee and Blaine; sisters Manna, Donna, Alice, and Norma.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore with a visitation from 1-2 pm.  Chaplain David K. Fishel will officiate. A private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
