JERSEY SHORE - H. Janice (Hiney) Fisher, 94, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at her home.

She was married to the late Anson B. Fisher who had passed away in 1995.

Janice was born on May 10, 1923 in Oval and was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Gamble) Hiney.  She had farmed in Salladasburg and had done quilting with the Trinity United Methodist Church.  Before she was married, she had the first beauty shop in the valley.

Janice is survived by one daughter; Dorothea A. Lehman (Mike) of Jersey Shore, one grandson; Steven Smith (Kimber), one great-granddaughter; Emily Smith and one sister; Nancy Dawson (Jay) of Palm Desert, CA.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson; David Smith and one brother; Bill Hiney.

There will be a public viewing 9 – 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, where the funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m.  Pastor David McCoy will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
