CAMMAL - George Eby passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, in the emergency unit of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville at the age of 65.

George was born on March 26, 1951 in Shamokin, Pa to George and Betty (Dewalt) Eby.

George is survived by his wife Paula, two children; Jennifer (Maurice Blount) and Steve (Rachel Harris); one grandchild Elijah Blount, his parents, three brothers, John (Sandy), Tim, and Mark (Sandy) and a sister Carol Anoia (Bill), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

George graduated from Shamokin High School in 1969 and immediately joined the Navy. He was honorably discharged from the Navy after four years as a Training Devices Repairman, Petty Officer 3rd class.

After leaving the Navy, George worked for 4 years at Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg, Pa where he was a computer operator for the IBM 360 and one of the first commercial IBM 370s.

George then moved to North Jersey, where he was employed for 22 years as the lead trunk technician for United Artists/Cablevision. He was responsible for the cable infrastructure in 53 towns in North Jersey (and knew the best restaurants and fishing holes in all of them). He was a member of the IBEW.

George retired to Cammal, Pa in 2001 to live in the Pine Creek Valley that he loved. An avid fisherman, he roamed Pennsylvania from the Sinnemahoning to the Delaware, down to the Yellow Breaches and Clarks Creek, and up to the Cowanesque.

George was a life member of the Fairview Gun Club, a member of the ACLU, RMEF, Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, Gold Prospectors of America, Morris Rod & Gun Club, and Union County Sportsman Club.

George was a unique person, witty, inventive, loving, and interested in everything; always willing to expand into new areas. His passing leaves the world a poorer place. George will be sadly missed, and forever loved.
