Gale M. Brooks, of Jersey Shore, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on December 24, 1937, in Jersey Shore, to the late Ernest and Margaret (Metzger) Brooks, Gale was a man of deep faith, devotion, and love for his family and community.

A devoted servant of God, Gale served as a pastor for over 20 years at various churches, including North Pocono Baptist Church and Hollisterville Baptist Church. His life’s work was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he encountered. Beyond his pastoral duties, Gale was a dedicated employee of Weis Markets, where he worked on and off for over four decades, gaining the respect and camaraderie of his colleagues.

Gale's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every opportunity to gather his sons and their families, especially for special occasions. He had a particular fondness for homemade ice cream and milkshakes, which were a staple at family gatherings. An avid trout fisherman, Gale found peace in nature and delighted in keeping his vehicles spotless and shining.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Patricia F. "Patsy" Brooks; his son, Rod Brooks; his grandson, Christian Brooks; and his brothers, E. Byron Brooks and Charles Lee Brooks.

He is survived by his sons, Brad (Christie) Brooks and Stan (Becky) Brooks; his grandchildren, Sharae (Bryce) Bason, Wade (Morgan) Brooks, Mackenzie Brooks, Jaylynn Brooks (Joey Mantek), and Bailey Brooks (Aiden Palmeter); and his great-grandson, Easton Brooks. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A celebration of Gale's life will be held at 12 P.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, 315 Thompson Street, Jersey Shore. Pastor Jeffery Howell and Pastor Ryan Schildroth will officiate the service. Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Avis.
