JERSEY SHORE - Frederick C. Dyroff, Jr. 76, passed away Saturday November 7, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia PA, June 18, 1939 he was the son of the late Frederick C. and Emma Kline Dyroff, Sr. He married the former Marguerite Liedtke on June 23, 1995 and together they shared 20 years of marriage.
Fred served in the United State Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 23 years of service. He served during the Vietnam Conflict with 4 tours of duty there. After retiring from the Navy; Fred was the Code Enforcement Officer and Manager of Jersey Shore Borough for many years, retiring from that position in 2001.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Tiadaghton Sportsmen's Association and the NRA. He also was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Jersey Shore. One of Fred's greatest passions in life was training K-9's.
In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by 3 sons, Dennis D. (Alita) of Bakersfield, CA, Frederick (Bear) C III (Tanya) of Lewisburg, and Shawn (Pee Wee) A. (Shelly) of Jersey Shore, 2 daughters Susan Shoemaker of Jersey Shore and Christine Moore (Eric) of Jim Thorpe. A sister, Elsie Murray of Jersey Shore, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild also survive him.
Fred's services will be private at the convenience of his family. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Tiadaghton Sportsmen's Association, PO Box 164 Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore are handling arrangements.
