JERSEY SHORE - Ferma Rae (McKinney) Buttorff, 91, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her residence.

She was married to the late Warren A. "Barney" Buttorff, Jr. on May 30, 1944 and celebrated 62 years as husband and wife at the time of his death.

Ferma was born on January 21, 1925 in Avis and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Vida (Hoover) McKinney.  She was a dedicated homemaker in addition to being a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, all types of animals and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons; Dennis (Ruth) Buttorff and Michael (Barb) Buttorff, all of Jersey Shore, one daughter; Carol (Bob) Benfield of Lock Haven, eight grandchildren; Carissa, Corinne, Emily, Bethany, Joe, Jason, Bryan and Chad, six great-grandchildren; Braden, Brinley, Gabrielle, Olivia, Audrey and Kenley and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister; Emma Lou Robb.

There will be a graveside service held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Jersey Shore Cemetery Chapel with Reverend Gary Shumway officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, 1601 Walnut St., Jersey Shore or to the Lycoming County Veterans Office, 48 West Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
