"Gail" (Decker) Norman

MUNCY - Emily G. "Gail" (Decker) Norman, 81, formerly of Jersey Shore, died on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit.
She was born on August 21, 1934 in Charlton and was a daughter of the late Frank L. and Evelyn V. (Smithgall) Decker. Gail graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1952. She had worked for Bell Telephone, Jersey Shore from 1952 – 1957, Williamsport Intercept Office from 1982 – 1983, Part-time for 20 years with Harer Photo in the store and helping her uncle take school pictures in area schools from 1960 – 1980's, owned and operated Cliff's Service Center for over 25 years and then retired from Highmark Blue Shield in 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore since 1946. She participated in many state bowling tournaments and also 6 National bowling tournaments. Gail enjoyed bowling, crocheting, local sports, sending cards and feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. Most of all, she was very big on family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities, concerts and events.
Gail is survived by three daughters; Christy L. Fish (Bob) of Muncy, Janice E. "Sam" Woodward (Dan) of Jersey Shore and Cindy S. Norman of Muncy, six grandchildren; Brynn Stark, Samantha Miller, Beth Woodward, Adam Fish, Ben Fish and Callie Fish, three great-grandchildren; Ava Madison Budd, Mya Elizabeth Fish and Daniel Richard Stark, one step great-granddaughter; Kaylanah Stark, two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Jean M. Decker and Lois Peterman, two brothers; Dean and Glenn Decker, one great-granddaughter; Emily Elizabeth Woodward and aunt and uncle; Charley and Dolly Harer.
There will be a public viewing from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 and again from 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore where the funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor R. Kenneth Weiss will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 236 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
