Ellen E. Carr, 94, of Leighton Place in Williamsport and formerly of Jersey Shore, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Rose View where she had been a guest for 10 days.

She was born January 14, 1928 in Jersey Shore, a daughter of Norman and Elizabeth (Gamble) Young.  She received her Associates Degree in Music from Lycoming University in Williamsport.  She married Norman T. Carr June 18, 1948 and they celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary last June.  For over 55 years Ellen was the organist at Calvary Baptist Church in Jersey Shore.  She enjoyed bird watching and was an animal lover.

Besides her husband Norman, she is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Brown (Edward) of Jersey Shore and two sons, Joel Carr (Marie) of Williamsport and Noel Carr (Fawn) of Montoursville; 7 grandchildren, Ted, James, Michael, Katie Brass, Sarah Vincent, David Cramer and Jerico Carr.  She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Phillip and Seth Young.
